Fremantle - Esplanade Reserve

Train

Transperth runs a service from Perth City station to Fremantle train station every day from early in the morning until late at night. The train from Perth to Fremantle takes approximately 30 minutes. Fremantle train station is within walking distance to Winter Festival.

Bus

Fremantle CAT bus

The CAT bus is a free bus service around the city centre. Stops include the Esplanade Reserve, Fremantle Arts Centre, Maritime Museum and South Beach. There’s a blue one that runs every 10 minutes and a red one that runs every 15 minutes.

The CAT runs seven days a week, including public holidays (except Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day) between these times:

  • Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 6.30 pm
  • Friday 7.30 am to 8.00 pm
  • SaturdaySunday and public holidays 10 am to 6.30 pm.
  • The CAT bus is also accessible with a driver activated entry ramp and low floor.

Parking in Fremantle

There is a number of car parks located near Winter Festival on Marine Terrace, Collie St and Essex St. Queensgate multi story carpark on Henderson St is also a short walk from Winter Festival. The best way to find a parking spot in Fremantle is using the Fremantle Parking App available for iPhones. The app shows the best parking spots, as well as hourly rates, opening hours and photos of each car park location so you can find them easily. The car park locator tool will locate the car park with the most bays, the cheapest rates or that is closest to your location. It also has a parking meter function to remind you when your meter expires.
